A traveller's most loyal companion is his music because music and travel go hand in hand. But if you are asked to name the 10 best travel music of all time, what would come to your mind? With so many songs out there, it's pretty tough to answer.

Although the current crop of musician regularly come up with making or wishing to make a trip to this or that place, if we go back in time we'll find some real gems. "Leaving on Jet Plane" a 1967 classic by John Denver probably tops of everyone's list. This ballad of an achy-hearted traveler's sadness at having to leave a loved one and not knowing he'll be back is an immortal anthem for long-distance love. Other timeless classics that come to mind are '24 Hour from Tulsa' by from Gene Pitney (1963), "The Passenger" by Iggy Pop (1977), "Paper Planes" by M.I.A. (2008), and "Vacation" by The Go-Go's (1982). You may add to these your own favorites, but if you've never heard this songs, you should now. Good music never dies.
